Group Curious? An Evening for Therapists Interested in Groups

  • The Art of Becoming Collective 523 Remington St, Suite A Fort Collins United States (map)

Maybe you’ve found yourself thinking:

“I’d love to offer a group someday.”

“I wonder if group work could be part of my practice.”

“I’ve had this idea sitting on the back burner for years.”

“I’m drawn to groups, but I don’t know where to begin.”

If so, you’re in good company. Many therapists feel drawn to groups long before they feel ready to lead one. Alongside the excitement often come questions:

● Am I experienced enough?

● How would I structure it?

● What would I charge?

● Would anyone actually want the group I imagine offering?

● Where would I even start?

This evening is for therapists who are curious about group work and want an opportunity to learn more about what makes groups such a powerful and meaningful way of working.

Together we’ll explore:

● What becomes possible in groups that often can’t happen in individual therapy

● Different ways groups can take shape, from psychotherapy groups to support groups, consultation groups, and circles

● Some of the fears and misconceptions that keep many therapists from ever getting started

● Why so many of us feel drawn to helping people heal not only in relationship with us, but in relationship with one another

● What it can look like to begin bringing a group from idea to reality

The evening will include teaching, conversation, and space for reflection and questions. My hope is not that you’ll leave feeling like you need to start a group tomorrow. My hope is simply that you’ll leave with a clearer sense of whether group work is something that calls to you—and if it does, perhaps one small next step toward bringing that vision to life.

Whether you are actively planning a group or simply wondering if one might someday be part of your work, you are welcome here.

And for anyone who would like to linger a little longer, we’ll continue the conversation informally afterward at The Mayor over food or a drink. You’re warmly invited to join us.
