Somatic Healing 101

  • The Art of Becoming Collective 523 Remington St, Suite A Fort Collins United States (map)

This evening is for anyone curious about the connection between the body, emotions, and healing. Whether you’ve heard terms like “somatic healing” or “nervous system regulation” and want to better understand what they actually mean, or you’ve noticed patterns of anxiety, overwhelm, shutdown, people-pleasing, chronic stress, or emotional disconnection in your own life, this space is designed to be both informative and approachable.

It is especially supportive for those who want to explore healing in a gentle, experiential way without needing prior knowledge or therapy experience. It can also be a powerful complement to traditional talk therapy, helping bridge the gap between intellectual insight and embodied healing. Many people understand their stories cognitively, yet still feel stuck in emotional or physiological patterns. Somatic work offers another pathway into healing by helping the body process what words alone sometimes cannot fully access.

This workshop provides a safe and grounded introduction for individuals seeking deeper awareness of how trauma, stress, and survival patterns can become stored in the body—and how healing can begin through greater connection to yourself.

What You’ll Take Away
You will leave with a foundational understanding of the nervous system and how your body communicates through emotion, sensation, triggers, and protective patterns. Through guided exercises, live demonstration, and nervous system education, you’ll gain practical tools to help regulate stress, recognize disconnected or overwhelmed states, and build greater compassion for your body’s responses.

You’ll also walk away with a clearer understanding of how somatic approaches can work alongside traditional therapy, offering supportive ways to move beyond insight alone into deeper integration, regulation, and lasting change. More than anything, this evening is intended to help you feel less intimidated by the healing process and more connected to the wisdom already within you.
