This conversation will invite participants to reflect on the process of healing and the many experiences we encounter on the journey toward wholeness. We will explore The Heart Series, a 12-part visual art collection created by artist and Art of Becoming Intern Counselor, Meagan Tarka, which will be displayed in the office throughout February. Meagan will open space for curiosity around creative expression as a healing practice—whether through something as simple as cooking a meal or as elaborate as painting a mural. Whether you consider yourself creative or not, all are welcome to come and discover how much creativity may be woven into your being, waiting to be discovered.
This event is designed for anyone interested in reflecting on their healing process from a broader, more spacious perspective. Sometimes in our journeys, we become so glued to the specific “content” of our stories, but here, we will explore the overall process of healing and how creativity can serve as a meaningful companion along the way. Participants will have the opportunity to engage directly with the artwork and ask Meagan questions about the inspiration, themes, and creative process behind The Heart Series. The conversation will also invite exploration of how creativity—both subtle and bold—can support personal growth, self-understanding, and healing practices. Throughout the evening, you’ll be encouraged to reflect on your own responses to the artwork, noticing what resonates, where resistance shows up, and what these reactions might reveal about where you’ve been, where you are now, and where you hope to go on your healing journey.
