Sanctuary for Sorrow: An evening of honoring loss, love, and the tender complexity of this season

  • The Art of Becoming Collective 523 Remington St, Suite A Fort Collins United States (map)

In a time of year filled with brightness, celebration, and busyness, we gather to honor what is also true: that grief has a place here. Sorrow and love are woven together, and those carrying loss, whether personal or collective, deserve spaces of gentleness, belonging, and acknowledgment.

We remember that grief is not a problem to be solved, but a testimony to connection — a way love continues. During tender seasons and holidays, many are quietly holding memories, longing, and sharp echoes of absence. You are invited into a gentle evening of shared humanity through reflection and presence. Come to mark what is personal, or to hold space for the collective ache of our world. Bring your remembrance, your sorrow, your tenderness, or simply your willingness to witness — all are welcome. You don't have to hold it alone.

This is a space for reflection, warmth, and community witness— where loss is seen, and grief is valued as an extension of our love.

You can anticipate a contemplative and nurturing evening designed to welcome your whole self. The space will be softly held through:

  • Quiet contemplation — moments of stillness, reflection, and spaciousness.

  • Artistic expressions — gentle creative practices to help tend the wounds and memories this season stirs.

  • Candlelight rituals-  honoring both personal and collective grief.

  • Poetry or reflective readings-  to accompany the tender places within.

  • Opportunities for community holding — not through disclosure, but through presence, warmth, and shared humanity.

You’re invited to engage at your own pace, in the ways that feel right for you — observing, participating, or simply resting in the company of others moving through their own tender winter.
