The Importance of Play

  • The Art of Becoming Collective 523 Remington St, Suite A Fort Collins United States (map)

What if play isn't something we outgrow? Join us for an evening of exploring the importance of play and the role it can have in connection, creativity, resilience, and emotional well-being. We’ll spend time learning together, playing together, and reflecting on what emerges when we engage our imagination, try something new, and have fun with one another. Come ready to be curious, make mistakes, laugh, and experience what can emerge when we play together.

The event will be facilitated by Lindsey Rithner, a mental health counseling intern and an expert in play according to her three young children.

This event is for anyone who is curious about the role play can have in their lives and well-being. Whether you’re looking to reconnect with your creativity, find more joy and connection, or simply remember what it feels like to play, this space is for you. Together, we’ll explore why play matters.

Play isn’t just for children. Play is important for our relationships, resilience, imagination, and emotional well-being.

What you can expect:

  • Learn about the importance of play and the role it can have in connection, creativity, resilience, and emotional well-being.

  • Experience group games designed to invite laughter, curiosity, imagination, collaboration, and a little uncertainty.

  • Reflect together on what emerges when we play, including our responses to risk, mistakes, competition, connection, and the unexpected.

  • Leave with a deeper understanding of play and perhaps a little more permission to make room for it in your own life.
